Mountain Biking Horace B. Garman Park
#27 of 128 mountain bike trails in Illinois
At the right (east) side of the parking lot ride through the grass to the woods. There are 2 main sections. The first part is a loop in the south side. The south side loop is easier but still enjoyable. When the trail gets to the bottom of the hill after the switchbacks you can choose to take the trail to the bridge to the north side loop. The north side loop is more technical and fun of course. Some switchbacks, bridges and hills. No big climbs.

In Decatur take Rt 48/Oakland Ave between Eldorado and Pershing and turn west on Ravina Park Rd, then take your second right on Fairview Ave at the end of the road Garman Park is on the left. Trail head is on the right side of the parking lot if your facing the grass fields. The trail cuts through the grass to the woods.
Fun trail system here in Decatur. A new flow trail loop was just added last year, and I've added a small skinny feature to it. Kind of easy to get lost in at first but just follow the blue marks on the trees and you'll be good.
Thank |Nice little loop for being in the middle of Decatur. No jumps or to many thrills just nice singletrack.
Thank |Best mountain bike trail in Decatur. This trail is maintained by local riders. Many new updates and ridable by all levels. Great terrain. Can't beat it if you live in or near Decatur. Trail map is at the east end of the parking lot. Check out Garman Single Track on FB.
