Some of the best riding on the front range, mix of singletrack, fireroad, as much technical as you want, as much uphill as you want....and down !

Rider questions

Q: I am looking into a new full suspension machine. For demo purposes, I have selected a Giant Trance 650b and a Specialized stumpjumper 29er, I want to do West Ridge, Spring Creek, and Wathen as a loop. How is that? Any particular direction or suggestions for the demo ride?
A: Those don't link up too perfect as a loop, but you should absolutely ride DOWN Wathen. If you do that, the top of the Wathen trail is at the Westridge intersection. Assuming you are coming from the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space Trail Head, I would do the following: -Head up the South Ridge Trail from the parking lot. -Continue onto Soderberg Trail. -Take a left on Spring Creek Trail. -Continue past the sign for Wathen. This is the "bottom" of the trail. -Climb to the 4-way intersection at the top and turn left on Towers Trail. -Make your next left on to Westridge Trail. -Turn left on Wathen and enjoy. -The rest is up to you, but I'd assume you would just retrace your steps once you got back to the Spring Creek Trail.
