Mountain Biking Humboldt River Out And Back

  Add a review
#99 of 114 mountain bike trails in Nevada
#27,388 in the world

This trail follows the Humboldt River on the south bank. It is spectacular for bird watching in
the spring. You will see many species of water birds and raptors if you do this ride from
April to June. From the "old" school parking lot, ride your bike back up the highway towards
1-80 for 1/4 mile. Cross the railroad tracks (both sets) and take a right. You are on a wide
dirt road. Ride this for 1/4 mile until you can cross a fence next to the road. You should be
able to see the river where you cross. Start riding the singletrack (created by cows) right
next to the water. This ride meanders right next to the river. The only
technical sections are sandy sections and thrashing through the sagebrush at times. This is
a very seasonal ride and changes frequently with the water level.
