#211 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina

Singletrack with lots of switchbacks. Some nice smooth areas in old fire breaks and some rooty sections. Network of trails that is pretty well marked.

I rode there a few days ago Good trail but has a lot of downed trees on the trail

This trail has potential. And after a whole lot of TLC it could be a fun trail. But until someone goes through with a chainsaw and machete it's going to be more hassle than it's worth.

Today was the first day I have ridden this trail and after reading al the great reviews, I was very disappointed. The maps are all gone. There are many closed trails that are only closed at one location and not the other side of the trail. For example, I was riding loop 2 and when I came to a junction, there was a closed sign for the trail I just rode. There are so many cross trails that you can easily get turned around and have no idea where you are at. Lastly, as mentioned before, the parts of the trail are in need of major maintenance with trees down and brush obscuring the trail. It will be awhile before I ever go back. New Trails are going up at Flanners Beach so that is where I will be riding from now on.

The best parts of the trails have been closed by "authorities" that don't use or even maintain the trails and depend on other good people to support them.
It was a pretty good singletrack for the area, but now its more of a better than nothing trail.

Only road half the trail but really fun. Needs some work with over grown shrubs and downed branches

Very well marked trail. One of the best. Signs at all major turn points with "you are here" marked. Impressive. A trail club of some sort takes care of this trail. They posted request for horse riders to clean up and take care not to damage the trail with big horse hoof holes. Hiker and dog friendly. Did'nt care much for LOOP 4. It was fire road. So stay within the loops and away from that section if you want to stay singletrack. A few sweet jumps and technical obsticles peppered throughout the trail. Very nice mellow trail that was not strenuous. A good starter trail for NC Eastern type of terrain. Follow diections to trail , when you think you gave gone too far, go farther. It is about 8 miles from the stop sign, but has the sign to clearly mark the trailhead.* Review edited 7/6/2012

Great trail for the area. Has a huge variety of twists and turns and you can choose your own route so that every time will be different. The terrain level changes a lot but nothing too steep. Great place to practice and get skill level up.

bit of a drive to get to, but worth it. there are a few different loops you can take so you can choose the distance you want to go. area is nice and well mapped. there are a few jumps and bridges. some bridges are still in the process of being built. great trail for the area.
