This is the most technical ride in the Red Fleet area; you will encounter plenty of tight, narrow trail, sudden ups and downs and plenty of rocks of all varieties. After climbing a short way from the road, the be sure to follow the bank right rather than continuing up the old Three Amigos Trail. . The trail will merge with Handsome Cabin Boy for a while and then you need to look for the left fork branching away from HCB (signed, but you have to look for it). At that point, it's quick, semitechnical descent back to the road. Cross the road at the restrooms and start up the singletrack. Very shortly thereafter, the hiking only Dino Tracks trail peels left and J-Boy goes right. Get ready for a long, switchbacky climb to the top of rock ledge rising hundreds of feet above the valley. At the top of the climb, get ready for an extended, technical descent that will throw a little bit of everything at you. Once at the bottom of the descent, its a moderate climb up the sandy wash to the road at the Jass Chrome Moly trailhead. The J-Boy Trail makes for a perfect advanced loop completion after the Jass trail.
I love this trail. Very interesting climb to a stunning summit with serious exposure. An uber-technical descent over rocks - Moab style - but it's non-threatening grade 5 and will not try to maim or kill you. You also get some flowing dirt, a bit of bumpy slickrock and lots of guaranteed excitement.

| ThankI have been traveling and riding trails in NM and UT, and so far this is my all time favorite. Gorgeous. Flowy sections. Some comfort zone stretching parts. And even a mini Red Bull Rampage like section with jumps. Great traction. So fun, I did an immediate second loop.
| ThankJ-Boy is a blast. It starts out relatively strong and picks up the farther you get into it. Good desert singletrack that has a mix of technical and flow with a fun drop option thrown in. Crossed a road and climbed up a ledge, and that's where it started getting awesome. That ledge climb was really cool, with great views at the top. The descent from there is a blast, and what gives J-Boy its character. Technical riding down rock faces (similar to Ribbon trail in Grand Junction), rock bridges, tight turns. Great stuff. Highly recommended.

| Thank5 stars!!! This is as fun a trail as I've seen anywhere, combining the best of what Fruita, Moab, and Sedona all have to offer in one uber-sweet singletrack package. The climbs are challenging but doable, the descents are wicked good fun with drops, rollers, stretches of slickrock, and it's all served up in the most unbelievable scenery. If you're an advanced rider and are going anywhere near Vernal, you must hit this trail. Do it as a continuation of a clockwise loop with Jass Chrome Moly (signed as "Jazz").
