The first 3.5 miles is on uninteresting doubletrack. Then you hit the singletrack. Don't fear the wilderness sign there as the singletrack runs alongside, but outside the Commanche Peak Wilderness Area. However, that's only for another 1 3/4 miles, then the wilderness boundary crosses the trail. So, in the end, you only get 3.5 miles of singletrack round trip. I'ts nice singletrack, but not really worth the effort to get there. Hitting the wilderness and having to turn around here is a real bummer as it looks like the ride up ahead would be really nice.
