Mountain Biking Jazz Chrome Molly

#84 of 710 mountain bike trails in Utah

WOW! This incredible slice of dirt could be one of the best in the country. Super narrow singletrack(6-8 inches) rolls it's way through rust and grey hued formations, between gnarled junipers and ends with a fast flowing descent back to TH. A figure eight loop with a circuit connected to it, all one trail though. From the start just stay left at every intersection to ride the trail in the direction it was designed to be ridden. I do not recommend riding this trail in any other variation than described above. The creators of the trail will tell you the same. A Classic! PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL. It's very narrow and very fragile just off the edges of the trail.

Getting there
In Vernal, Take HWY-191 north(Vernal Ave.) approximately 12 miles. You are nearing Red Fleet State Park and making a right turn on a paved road thats signed "Dinosaur Tracks". (Just past a energy plant of sorts on your left) TH parking is the first dirt road on left.

Like the other trails in the Red Fleet System, Jazz Chrome Molly is an outstanding trail. It's possibly the fastest and most exhilarating trail in the system. It flows!

Parked on the road and hit Jass clockwise. Starts out with a super fun/fast descent, and we caught it on a hero dirt day. Lots of up and down punchy climbs and descents for a while until you peak out and just RIP down a spine that's set up perfectly; killer flow, a couple little step ups and jumps, and absolutely screaming fast. Definitely recommended. From there went over to Cabin Boy and J-Boy. Well worth riding Jass for that downhill stretch. Nothing technical, just fast desert riding.

Two great descents with some short / steep climbs to test your fitness. I kept left at every junction to maximize the ride.

The original post and reviews so far give high praise--rightfully so! This i san exceptionally well designed and cut piece of singletrack with a mixture of great flow and reasonable climbs. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous as well. If you're not having fun here, you're not doing it right!. Combine with J-Boy and/or Handsome Cabin Boy for a world class loop that combines the best of Fruita, Sedona and Moab all in one package.

TOTAL BLAST! Perfect combo of uphill and downhill. Really enjoyed the back part and riding down the narrow ridge (fin). Wish I could ride it everyday!

The BLM has worked on the whole trail, so now it properly sheds water, and the downhill section along the ridge is super fast. Come next riding season get out there and ride
