Mountain Biking Joseph Banks Nature Park
#58 of 169 mountain bike trails in New South Wales
a fast and fun fire trail descending in a zig zag down the mountain, there are several branching routes that connect more directly to other sections. some small water bars are scattered throughout the trail which make for good jumping. the surface can be loose rock and sandy in places so watch out. watch out for walkers and sight seers and be careful with your speed on the corners, some of them are rather large drops over the edge. The gates to this area at the top (and in some lower areas) are USUALLY open, but expect them to be closed or blocked if other events are on the mountain.
As an added bonus the team from the Newtons Nation Festival has cut a downhill track into the side of the mountain, this crosses the trail in several places so watch out for downhill riders, and if downhill riding yourself, watch out for other riders and walkers on the trail where you cross it.

head to the top of the Mount Panorama Racing Circuit travelling anti clockwise (the course direction, you can come in the other direction). When you reach the top of the mountain follow the circuit until you see an exit to your right into Mcphilamy park (left if travelling clockwise). take the first left when inside the park and drive towards the race tower seen on the edge of the race track. a sign will signify Sir Joseph Banks Nature Park in a fenced off area. Any of the gates into this area will lead you to the trail, the trail head is located by the run down building behind the sign.
