Mountain Biking Jubilee

****   Add a review
#22 of 128 mountain bike trails in Illinois
#2,505 in the world

Many medium to easy single and doubletrack accompanied by horses (watch your step). Any rider looking for the some of best riding in Central Illinois should look for a quick "off ramp" from the horse trails to the woods. You'll find brake-busting downhills, switchbacks and deer-ramming chutes. The trails away from the main (mapped) trails are currently groomed into great singletrack. Bottom line: look off the beaten path for better mtb trails. Check www.pambamtb.com for more info.

Wide trails that are heavily worn by horses. Decent trail, not worth any long drive.

This trail has a combination of double and single track. The single track isn't well marked sometimes, but the overall size of the park isn't huge so you can't get to lost.

Jubilee is a fast and fun trail. The trails are well maintained for the most part (there is a spot or two where the water runs down and makes a rather large rut) by PAMBA. Once you find the trails they are marked well with a map at virtually every intersection so it is almost impossible to get lost. There are a few places where horses may present some issues. This trail has a fantastic set of loops that are great for a workout. I hit this trail as often as I can. If you are an expert looking for a technical challenge I recommend looking elsewhere. Otherwise this trail is great for everyone from the expert all the way to riding with the kids.

We rode Jubilee twice over the weekend. The first time was at night with headlamps and we had a good ride. Mostly stayed on doubletrack and lived to ride another day. The course has good trail signage and pretty straightforward. The next morning we hit all the trailheads we missed the night before and had a good time. The trail south of the creek crossing was sweet.

Nice trails once we found the actual mountain bike trails. Spent most of the day wondering around on the horse trails and basically accidently came across the single track. Once there, the single track was pretty fast. I had a good time.

My first 5 miles was challenging. Talk about bruises and scratches, i had my day. Great trail with varying degrees of difficulty. My legs were screaming after the climbs, anticipating a few hard downhills.

There are really great trail in Central Illinois, but Jubliee must be the best. Incredible ravines, log piles, switchbacks and tough climbs make this trail a challenge for the beginner but worth a drive for the expert.
