#177 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho

From Camelsback Park ride up to Kestrel. Once at the top of the little climb you make a left on Crestline Trail and continue up to the junction with Red Cliffs where you turn left again and head downhill. At the bottom there is a road crossing with a very short gravel road that links you to Chickadee Ridge a d back to the park. This is one of the most popular areas of the foothills so please be aware of the other trail users. Hikers and dog walkers are extremely common on these trails.

This is a fun little loop for after work or if you don't have a lot of time. I generally ride it in 45-50 minutes. There is about 650 feet of climb, mostly on Kestrel. The downhill on Red Cliffs can be lots of fun and is mostly open so you can see any other traffic long before you get to them. Red Cliffs has some really fun flowing banked turns that make it a little more exciting. Since this loop is located in the lower foothills please be aware that on nice days it can get extremely busy. Because of its proximity to town you will almost always come across other mtn bikesr, hikers, dog walkers, runners and occasionally horses. Remember proper trail etiquette and let's all have a positive experience.
