Kimmons trail is a 1.1 mile section of singletrack that descends about 500ft from the intersection with Timber Trail down to West Valley Trail. Most people climb Timber trail and descend Kimmons, because the lower part of Timber is a less technical climb than Kimmons (upper Timber is a completely different beast).
Much of Kimmons is narrow and smooth enough to develop some speed. The trail throws a series of switchbacks at you which are loose enough to carry some speed. But, as you gain some confidence, the trail challenges you with some oddly angled rock gardens. The rock gardens pop up when your line of sight is limited, and will surprise folks who don't know what to expect. I really enjoy the challenge of riding this trail fast.
