Mountain Biking Kinkaid Lake
#108 of 128 mountain bike trails in Illinois
Trail head beings at the end of Spillway Rd. up on top of the dam at the west end. Trail has many fast sections along the way with lots of rapid elevation change and a couple of water crossings. Last quarter mile or so is dirt double track to an old picnic area on the central west side of lake with two small boat docks oriented N/S. Trail may continue longer than this, but this is as far as I have gone on it. Trail offers several scenic views and lots of flow. Have seen hunters in the surrounding woods before so be aware.

If going to see spillway on Kinkaid lake, do not break to the right when road splits but stay straight to the small parking area by the gate. Bike road up to top of dam wall and once on top, look left and you'll see a small trail entry.
