Mountain Biking Kona
#400 of 1,004 mountain bike trails in California
Follow Tapia Canyon Rd., stay to the left at the first Y and then when you reach the meadow turn to the right and continue climbing. Once you reach the towers turn right and climb up over the little rise. Just on the other side of the rise the trail heads off to the left. From here the trail is very easy to follow. It will drop you into the creek trail and then to Karls trail which ends at Tapia Canyon Rd. near the bottom.
Once you get onto Kona get ready for arguably the most fun trail in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The trail is most fast easy singletrack with fun flowing turns and a few mild jumps here and there. The creek trail is a little tougher and then Karl's trail is pretty flat and fun but requires more pedaling.

From I-5 exit Parker Road and turn right. At the four-way stop turn right again onto Castaic Rd.. On the left is the Castaic Sports Complex, park here. Ride your bike down Castaic Rd.. When it turns left continue following it and turn right at the stop sign, then take the next left. This is Tapia Canyon Rd. and about a quarter mile up the road it turns to dirt.
