The Kresson Trail area is nice well maintained riding space for beginner to intermediate rider looking for a place get a quick ride in. My son and I covered app of the trails in about an hour of ride time. There are some small obstacles to cross and a fee technical sections to work through. For me it's a good place to work on skills thats not too far from home and is challenging enough to not be boring.
Just rode here and beware there was a flood and the green trail is washed out. There are puddles where there weren't puddles lots of mud the man-made obstacles are washed away. Be careful. I cleaned up what I could it still needs more work and to dry out
This trail system has some small jumps and obstacles to practice skills on, and some tight singletrack further in the woods. The trail is a bit overgrown and could use some maintenance, but other than that, Kresson Park was a fun place to ride.
As someone that is fairly new to the sport. I have found this track has several good options that help build my abilities and confidence. Lived in Cherry Hill for many years and never knew it was right under my nose. Nice ride.
Kresson was empty on 08/04/2016. The trails appeared to be in good shape for the first 10 minutes, but than impassable. Overgrown a bit, many blow down though out, needs a good grooming. Be advised that some growth contains thorns and can puncture a tubed tire and scratch your skin or even an eye.
Definitely the best trail in the local area. The closest trail that is better is 6 Mile Run and its an hour away. This trail is on the smaller size but there is a lot of variety in the area. The orange and purple trails are always exciting. There are a lot of small elevation changes and some quick turns. Unfortunately, there are a lot of roots as well.
Little known fact is that there is another section of the trail that isn't on the trail map. The trail head is across Springdale Road, right before the metal guard rail. This section is definitely for advanced riders. There are a lot of steep drops and climbs. It is also not as well maintained as the main trail. There are some fallen trees that block some paths but it is still fun.
Definitely the best trail in the local area. Closest trail that is better is 6 Mile Run and it's an hour away from Kresson. The trail is on the smaller side but they pack a lot of variety in the area. The orange and purple trails are always a blast. There are a lot of sharp turns and small elevation changes. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of roots.
Not shown on the trail map is another set of trails across Springdale Road. The head is right before the metal guardrail. This section is for advanced riders with steep drops and climbs. Not as well maintained as the main trail but definitely fun.
I wanted to update my review. I've hit some different trails and keep having more and more fun. For the area this place is fantastic !! Definitely worth coming out and doing some daily xc.
This place shows how good trail work can make a small unassuming area super fun. Fun areas like this can be made in so many spots that have MTB trail potential. Lots of fun turns and great packed ground. However, It does not drain well and can be a muddy mess even 2-3 days after a rain.
First time here. I give this a 4 because it's so darn convenient, but the trails are also pretty fun! There's a lot crammed into a rather small area. Lots of tight twisty sections, a couple of short downhills, not many hard climbs. There are a couple of cool sections where the trail is on the side of a hill. The sections along the stream are nice.
A few man-made log features. I swear I saw a decent wooden drop in someone's video on YT, but I didn't come across it. Removed maybe?
Every plant out there has stickers. Haha!
A handful of other people were riding, and I was moving pretty quick, but no issues running into anyone.
I was the only car in the lot around 9:30 and I scared two big deer when I came across them at a good clip. That was petty cool!
Definitely can get a good workout in. I was huffing and puffing.
Huge tree down across part of the orange trail. Not sure if that's new since this was my first ride here.
Very conveniently located, this is a nice series of trails that offers a big helping of fun. This is a flat track with minimal elevation change but a lot of up and down.
Given the amount of space for the builders of the system had to make the trails, these are great. A nice small place. It only took me twenty minutes to cover the entire system, but all of the trails were nice and smooth, with many bridges on the purple and white trail and log features on the orange and blue trail. One nice jump on the orange trail. Overall a good ride.
Really small place. Me and 2 of my friends rode the entire place in about an 45mins. But there where some nice features like log piles, wooden bridges, and log rides. There was a lot of rooty areas, and the soil was nice and packed. It is definitely a well maintained place and it is a great stop on the way home from work.
Overall a great trail however it needs some work. There are plenty of roots and obstacles to come across. It makes for a fun and quick ride.
