Mountain Biking Ladders
#830 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
This is the new up only trail to the top of the Chutes. Very nice addition to the area and really nice for those blazing down the Chutes. Pretty smooth trail, no real tech. Fun for an uphill ride???

Straton Open Space/ Columbine Trail
As of June 2024, Ladders has been extended 2.5 miles from the top of the Chutes up Cheyenne Canyon to Middle Columbine Trail. Along the way, it crosses Captain Jack's near its bottom and also Gold Camp Road (GCR) about 300 yards above the first tunnel. That crossing is very well marked on the road. Ladders is a great alternative to pedaling up GCR. The climbs are really nice and the descents are okay. The views and forest are beautiful. Though stated otherwise in the trail description above, Ladders is bi-directional throughout its entire length from Chamberlain Trail in Stratton to Middle Columbine. It is now 3.1 miles long.
