Mountain Biking Oakdale Trails

****   Add a review
#127 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#4,703 in the world

Good beginner trail with berms, rock/concrete gardens & other minor obstacles to help build up your confidence but also fun for more experienced riders. Ride under an overpass to get to the newer parts of the trail. As of October 2019 there are two complete loops, with two more being worked on, but rideable. Newer sections have drops, jumps, & more berms.

It's really hard to review. Most the trails are 4 stars, but the south loop (red) by the solar field is so much fun. They need more trail markers out there. A lot of guessing which way to go. Park at the community college and access the system through the tunnel.

Newer trails west of Lapeer off of Demille Rd. Parking on Lake Rd. on north side of train tracks. Paved and gravel trails for warm up / cool down if you like. Go under the train tracks and immediately turn right to get onto the MTB trail. No trail markings at all. East side of Demille Rd is open easy. Cross under the bridge next to train tracks to west side. Good trails all the way through. Just after the farthest point when starting to come back, you need to turn right and right going down 2 track over a bridge to get to the river trial on the left. This is the best trail out there and lots of fun. Cudos to everyone working on this project as it will be a very solid set of trials in the future. Enjoy.

As of 2019 there are now 4 loops, with 3rd and 4th loop being more difficult than first 2 loops.... Also pathway improvements under boulevard next to train tracks can now be ridden to second loop... great trail for beginners and intermediate riders as this is Lapeers first singletrack project, I'd say it's coming along great....dont miss out on this hidden gem....approx 6 miles

As of July 2019 the trail consists of two loops, separated by an overpass. One is short, in an open field, that has bermed turns, rollers, and a couple of ups and downs as elevation permits. The other loop, reached by going along the railroad tracks under the overpass, is flat, flowy, with a few technical features. The trail is scenic and rides well in either direction. This is a good beginner trail, but experienced riders can enjoy it as a change of pace as there really isn't anything similar in the area.
