Mountain Biking Lick Creek Trail Short loop
#94 of 169 mountain bike trails in Missouri
Once on the trail it's marked very well as long as you take the short loop. Clockwise is the best way or you may miss one turn. The short loop is a fast ride and can be rode by anyone. Lick Creek Trail everyone with have to hike a bike in places and not marked very well.

At the 4 way stop in Perry take route A north. The main trail head for Lick Creek is across route J from Ray Beherns Recreation Area.
I was camping out at mark twain lake state park and decided to bike this trail mainly because there aren't many options here. I parked at the trail head and rode the short loop, ended up being 3.75 miles all together. The trail is very overgrown and rocky. Be prepared to hop or carry over downed trees every hundred feet. The trail has pretty good potential but it's in need of a lot of maintenance.
Thank |The short loop of the Lick Creek Trail seems to be laid out with more thought than parts of the rest of the trail. This loop would have been even more enjoyable if there was any kind of trail maintenance done. It's very overgrown with a lot of trees blocking the path. Even so it hasn't suffered the damage caused by horses like the rest of the trail . . . yet.
Thank |Nice short trail, also two new trails have been cut off of the Joanna Trail and Frank Russell camp ground. Ride down the Joanna Trail until you come to the old road that cross it. Make a left and watch for signs,
