Two mountain bikers navigate a narrow dirt path in a lush green forest. The scene is surrounded by tall trees and dense foliage, with dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves. One rider, wearing a red helmet, is in the foreground, and another can be seen further down the path. Legion Trail System mountain bike trail.

Mountain Biking Legion Trail System

#65 of 138 mountain bike trails in Minnesota
#5,426 in the world

This is a very twisty bit of mostly novice to lower intermediate singletrack tucked into a combination xc ski trail and frisbee golf network. The trails aren't well marked, but it's not a large are, so it's hard to get lost, despite the dense woods.

It's a great trail with hard stuff and easy stuff but it's really hard to navigate through and I got lost for 20 minutes until I found a way out

Best trail on the Iron Range. The GRIMBA crew has really stepped up and built some solid trails!!
This trail is a favorite of our children's!!

Surprisingly fun little network in a place you'd never expect to find one. There's not much topography or mileage, but the trail bobs and weaves, making good use of space without doubling back on it self too much. There are a few optional wooden features and log piles to spice things up for those looking for a little tech.
