Mountain Biking Little Bear
#68 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
Nice switchback trail connecting AZ Trail to Sunset Trail atop Mt. Elden. Some technical spots, with a fair grade but it is mostly rideable uphill by most seasoned riders. Great downhill. Great scenery with wildlife opportunities.

Take HWY 89 north out of Flagstaff to Elden Springs Road (Forest Service Road 556). Take a left on Elden Springs Road 3-4 miles to Deer Hill parking area. Riding towards Mt. Elden, and link onto the AZ Trail, hang a right, and the Little Bear jct will be about 1.5 miles down the trail.
Part of an extensive trail system on Arizona's tallest, most beautiful and coolest mountain. A volcanic cone last eruption in the area was less than 1000 years ago. Many parts of the system are great, explore here for a few days.
Thank |Bring plenty of water, there's none. The climb up to the top of the riding is tough but rewarding.
Nice trail on Mt. Elden. I rode it on my way to Schultz Creek. Fast and flowing with some rockier sections to keep you awake. Fun trail.
Thank |Super fun descent with rocky and fast top half and tight and turny bottom half. A must ride in Flagstaff, don't miss it.
