Mountain Biking Little Beaver State Park - Beaver Creek
#54 of 112 mountain bike trails in West Virginia
This is a short interesting trail that makes a loop along side Beaver Creek. It has some light climbs, lots of roots, some rock beds, a bridge with a steep climb at the end. There are two trails that branch off this trail so watch what you are doing. Rhododendron Run branches off and is a very difficult and technical trail with verticals and the standard roots and rocks.
Beaver Creek is a good trail for beginners to get a taste of what Little Beaver State Park has to offer.

From I64 near Beckley, take the Grandview Exit 129, go south on Grandview Rd., turn left into Little Beaver State Park, go to the second parking lot. Trun left out of the parking lot and go past the parking area near the playground and take a right down the hill by the shelter. This is lake front trail. Stay on this trail for about .5 miles until you cross the covered bridge. Take the first road to the left and go out onto the pavement to the left and you will see the Sign for Beaver Creek Trail. Trail is marked with white markers.
What part of this trail is for the beginner? It is not very well marked.I get to ride some of the old creek beds and that is not easy. The rest of the trails are pretty good and flowing but are short. The state park is nice and the trail lead right from the camp sights.Wort riding if You are in the area.
Thank |Sweet short trail that gives beginners a feel for what other trails at the park have to offer. Not for novices, but fine for those that feel solid on their bikes. Trail does have lots of rocks and roots and might be considered moderately technical - but I rode it as a beginner.
