This ride is all singletrack, 3 shortish climbs and the rest descending...gaining 2000' and dropping 4400'.
This shuttle ride begins w/ a quick hike-a-bike up to a ridge on good singletrack.
At the top of the ridge head right for more up then the down starts. The trail
comes out on road 077. Here head left and into the obvious canyon, this is
Little Silverlead. Follow this trail until you see a steep trail leaving the canyon
to the left and another hike-a-bike. Crest the top and descend steeply down
into Big Silverlead. Go left and up this drainage following the Lewis and Clark
trail markers. At the last trail marker in the canyon go right and begin
contouring up and out of Big Silverlead. At the top of this gentle climb, go left
and up picking up a game trail, climbing to the next high saddle. Here contour
into a small gulch and head down it. Follow this into the canyon below known
as Burns Gulch, past a stocktank to a small basin. Here turn up the canyon to
the immediate left and climb to another stocktank. Now go right and climb to a
saddle. Drop down here into Little Thompson Gulch and down to
Wagonhammer Creek. Go right and descend to the trailhead.
Please Close ALL Gates between June 1 and Sept 1.
