Mountain Biking Long Cane Horse Trail

****   Add a review
#8 of 115 mountain bike trails in South Carolina
#596 in the world

From 505/506, I'd go CCW. The trail is all singletrack and is open to horses and bikes. The northern end, where you are parking, is 95% bike use and the southern end (where the horse trailers park) is 95% horse use. Several configurations to ride as out/back, lollipop loop, or a big loop. Has about 10 miles of 4-5 year old trail constructed by professionals. This is maybe the sweetest stuff, but the old school sections are alot of fun to. More climbing than most of the trails south of here. All in all, a really good ride.

Rider questions

Q: I have a club and would like to take a walk in this park are about 30 members. I would like to know how I can do, if I need to ask permission from the city ? or just I need to pay the park . if I could explain the steps to organize a walk.
A: It is a National Forest. Any and all are welcome. Really, the only problem would be parking for that many people, but when I have been on group rides there, we have used the Fell Hunt Camp. It is pay to park, and sometimes there is a resident in a camper there. A quick Google search should give you the information you need on it and its location. An entrance to the trail is just across the dirt road.
