Well maintained singlletrack trails through mature pine forest and some bottoms. There are a few hilly spots and some fast downhills at times. Due to the tree canopy, these trails stay relatively shaded and can be ridden all year. The trails are well maintained by local riders, so the trails are usually clean, open and fast. Minimal sandy spots with the vast majority of the trails being hardpacked dirt with not much roots. Good Trail system.
The spot 277THD on the map is at the top of the steep hill, 1/4 mile West of Jackson road on the right. Take this singletrack and follow the arrows for 1.7 miles. This will eventually dump you back on the paved trail. For more single track, get back on the paved trail and continue along the paved, or take connecting singletrack (8-Mile) trail until you come to the pipeline crossing. Go left along pipeline for 300' and singletrack starts on your left and right. (Pipeline trails and Death Valley Trails)
Another 5 miles here
There is a new trail section that has been added, a total of 6.50-7.0 miles of singletrack is now in place. The topo map above does not show the "rails to trail" paved trail, which basically cuts across the center of the map between the two loops.
Enthusiastic group heading up this trail system. Come join us..
Fun little trail system that uses the terrain they have available to good effect. Nothing too challenging and not much climbing but still worth a visit. Signage was pretty good. Lots of intersections but as long as you pick a color and follow the signs you'll be OK.
Thank |Awesome time here. Trails mostly smooth, and easy, but with plenty of rolling hills. Red is miles of smooth go fast stuff, Turtle is pretty mellow, and hilly. Rain Shed is nice, I think it goes better backwards. The back loops , Dam and Tufburg, are a little more challenging. Trails are pretty well marked, but I had a hard time in the dark. Also gr8 new parking lot and trail head area of of Jackson rd.
Thank |I was pleasantly surprised by this trail system. Not a lot of good terrain, but great use of what there is. Trail markings were pretty good, however the yellow trail could get some attention. This was a great way to break up a long drive from Atlanta to Baton Rouge!
Thank |Well maintained trails that travel through mature stands of Longleaf Pines. Beginner loop is wide & smooth. The more advanced trails feature rooty switchbacks mixed with gentle climbs and descent. Trails are well marked.
Thank |Coming from North, GA /NC riding, I was shocked to find a series of trail systems. I enjoyed all loops. Only trail that was struggle to follow is the yellow loop. To Great Riding!!
Thank |Good ride ........8 miles yesterday dry dusty and some pine straw. My new kona hei hei loves it .

Thank |Excellent trails! Well Shaded, Great place to spend the evening with family riding through the woods. Easy enough for beginners but also provides challenges for more skilled riders. Bring plenty of water! You'll need it this time of year!

Ok, it's been a while since I've ridden this trail and I just got back from a ride this morning. I live an hour south and have been to this trail a couple of times before and I wasn't impressed. I kept getting lost and the trail wasn't in good shape but that was a while ago. Today, however, I was totally impressed! Each and every trail was well marked, the trails were in great shape and everything flowed together nicely. It had some challenging uphill sections tag teamed with some roots to really put a smile on your face. Recently, the local riders built some creek bridges and a few other bridges through the wet areas. I will definitely be going back very soon! The only thing I think would greatly improve this trail system would be some jumps on the straight aways and maybe some obstacles with bypasses for those who aren't into that type of thing. 5 stars in my book!!!
Thank |This trail has been updated significantly by local riders/racers. Now approximately 11 miles of trail. Well kept. Very fun. One of the best in the state. A must try if in the area
Thank |You can not tell which way the trail goes. There is such a tight network of trails, I kept going around in circles. Nothing is marked. Someone needs to mark the trails better and make them run in a certain direction.
Thank |These trails are really well maintained. The trails a fun time that beginners and experts can all appreciate. There's a lot of woodwork, but it's mostly to avoid the muddy areas.
The "trailheads" aren't marked at all but there are some directional arrows here and there. I ended up finding the end of each trail and riding them backwards. By the time I got to an arrow it was too late, lucky I went in the morning when the trails were deserted.
Also, the "No Trespassing" signs should be read as "bike at your own risk". * Review edited 4/6/2010
Thank |In Hattiesburg for the weekend and got a decent workout. Definitely could use more markings. Difficult to determine where to enter/exit the trail (for someone new to the trail). * Review edited 3/23/2010* Review edited 3/23/2010
Thank |Some good up and down. Well maintained and scenic. If you know the network of trails, there is about 7 miles of continuous singletrack.
Thank |This is a multiple network of trails on both the North and South sides of the longleaf Trace. Regular work is being done and some woodwork is being added. It is an excellent training course with a lot of technicals. Tight downhill turns, Uphill switchbacks, and fast DH.* Review edited 1/10/2010
Thank |some singletract has been added west of Jackson Road. It is probably about 5 miles and is enough for a good workout, a few small hills. Fun if you are from Hattiesburg...
Thank |This would be a great workout for road riders especially since the scenery is soothing but for a mtb'er it was enjoyable till the very end when two different sets of dogs charged out from their backyards foaming at the mouth. I'LL PASS.
