Not a lot of climbing over the 12 miles, but it's all over 10K ft in altitude, so you'll need your lungs. This is a nice, scenic loop with a pretty lake and a good way to escape the southwest Utah heat.
Go up canyon from Brian Head to the summit. About a quarter mile after the summit sign, look for a gravel road and go left. Go 1.8 miles and look for a parking lot on the left. The trailhead is across the road.
The loop joins segments of the Sydney Peaks, Lowder Creek, and Marathon trails.
