A winding dirt path through a lush green forest, lined with trees and scattered rocks. Fallen leaves cover the ground, and sunlight filters through the leaves above, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Mahlon Dickerson mountain bike trail.

From the parks website:
Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, the largest park of the Morris County Park
System, encompasses 3,200 acres of near wilderness and recreational
areas, with over 20 miles of multi-use trails. One of the Reservation s
outstanding features is Headley Overlook, one of the highest points in the
Morris County Park System. Along the Pine Swamp trail, the highest point in
Morris County, at 1395 feet, can also be found.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation has four activity areas, beginning with two
options for overnight stays. The first is a camping area with tent sites and
Adirondack shelters, complete with platforms, picnic tables and fire rings. In
addition, the Mahlon Dickerson trailer area, with paved sites, features
electric and seasonal water hook-ups, picnic tables and charcoal grills.

Visitors to the Saffin Pond area have access to hiking, biking and equestrian
trails as well as fishing, ice skating and picnicking. Finally, the general picnic
area has both group and family sites with tables and charcoal grills, a
pavilion, ballfield, exercise area and horseshoe pit.

This place is so big and seemingly getting bigger. I think that there is something here for everyone if you are intermediate to advanced and you know where to find it you'll find some awesome single track with some great views . My favorite part of this place is that it is definitely different from mile to mile and it flows very well. Well marked mostly. I like the yellow, teel, and purple if you can locate it. Though there is more.

This is a review of the Yellow trail loop. Half fire-road, half singletrack; some technical sections with a pucker-factor of 7; very well maintained. I had a lot of fun here but was forced to walk some technical parts that I was not prepared for. There are lines through the rocky bits, just find em! The climbs are short and sweet. There is only one long climb but it leads to some really enjoyable singletrack descent. Every obstacle is rideable, just keep your speed up and you'll be good.

Barely rideable in some parts. Large impassable rocks in the middle of some trails where you have to hop off and walk a bit . Terrible trails don't come here.

The first time I rode here, I was able to do every trail on the south part of the system. From riding this, Mahlon is a fantastic place to ride. Although some of the trails feature double track mixed with single track, the climbs are brutal and the downhills are fast. There are rock faces in a couple of spots and some large drops and log crossings. I can't wait to come back again.

Great place to ride. Did 10 miles and didn't cover all trails. Nice climbs, awesome downhill some rocky increasing difficulty. There is a little for everybody. You don't have to be an expert mountain biker to ride here but even if you are you will enjoy yourself.
