Mountain Biking Cheney Lake Main Trail
#76 of 90 mountain bike trails in Kansas
This trail is relatively flat. There are some single track in the wooded areas. It played along a disk golf course so be ware . There are some open prairie spots as well. The north end you can ride right up to the lakes edge. Watch out for the sand. This trail is very beginner friendly.

Traveling from the east. From I-235 get on W Zoo Blvd. It turns into W 21st St. Keep heading west on W 21st and it turns into W21st St N. It then turns into NE 50 St. About 1/2 mile to your right is the Cheney St Park entrance. Pass the permit station and take your first right. Then take the next right. Then turn right on the road just before the St Park Office. There is a parking area immediately to your left. Park there and the Trail head is back at the corner. If traveling from the west take US Rout 400 to NE 150 Ave. Turn north and follow to NE 50 St and turn east. Cheney St Park entrance is about 1/8 of a mile on your left. Same direction to trailhead!
This is a beginner / intermediate level trail. No technical challenges, just a few wood planked bridges for fun. A couple different trail options that lead back to the main trail. Wasn’t impressed!
