Mountain Biking Mammoth Cave Railroad

****   Add a review
#38 of 108 mountain bike trails in Kentucky

This is a Rail to Trail that is a gravel out and back from Mammoth Cave National Park to Park City. It is not very challenging like you would normally think of Mountain Biking. It is historic and you go past places that were there at the beginning of the last century and it is nice to see some of those historical things. I was camping at the national park and decided to ride it and see what was there. I saw wild life and the evidence of other people from another time. That was nice.

Nice gravel trail. Good for families. I ride my cyclocross bike here when the Big Hollow trail is too wet to ride.

This trail is designed for the scenic ride. My whole family can ride it easily and the plaques describing historical locations and events are spread perfectly. Each plaque tells a story and is a great place to stop for water and take a break when you have small children like I do. It was a very nice ride. Not for the person looking for jumps though.

Very pretty but not a mtb trail. Plenty of trail to ride and lots of beautiful scenery, just leave your suspension at home.

This is an excellent trail for beginners just starting in mountain biking or seasoned riders wanting a fun leisurely ride. It has a smooth gravel surface and a few steep grades for a good mix. It is also very rich in wildlife, having seen deer, turkey and squirrels myself on my last ride.

This was a fun family ride. Trail was in great shape and was very well marked. I rode a single speed with no real problem, but my 8 year old on her barbi bike had some problems. Great family fun

Just a long gravel trail. Good if the good trails are wet and you want to get some cardio in or ride with someone with no experience. Real pretty ride.
