Mountain Biking McDougal Lake Trail
#49 of 108 mountain bike trails in Kentucky
A multi-use trail in two main loops, the Big Woods Loop and the Lakeside Loop. The Big Woods Loop is an easier loop that starts and ends at the Stiles Ford Trailhead. It offers some decent climbs/descents on a double track trail and several marked scenic views where one can enjoy gorgeous sunrises/sunsets over McDougal Lake. It can be connected to the Lakeside Loop which is an intermediate loop with multiple scenic lake views, a plethora of wildlife, and several technical switchback sections. Overall an approximate 9 mile loop can be made.
The Knob Creek Conservancy and City of Hodgenville have plans to add a second trailhead off of HWY 470 where the Lakeside Loop can be directly accessed.
