These trails are recommended to intermediate and advanced riders. Prepare for a lot of walking with novice riders. Minaki is a single track trail system that winds its way through the Boreal forest and out on to the rock of the Canadian Shield. This is a marked trail made up of a series of loops that make up 25km of very challenging riding. Bring plenty of water along especially in the summer. Our high humidity can produce a lot of sweat. The trail does have some easy sections though there are always technical challenges along the way. The rock sections have a “Slickrock†feel to them just like Moab. The best time to ride is August through to October. Maps for the trails are on site and the trails are fairly well marked. Also there is onsite bike rentals and guide services. There is a day lodge and picnic area at the trailhead. Washrooms and a bikewash station are also available. Host trails of the annual “Bike til Ya Yurt†cross country mtn bike race. Usually held the Sunday of July. The trails are maintained by Club Minaki and a $2.00 user fee applies or $25.00 annual memberships are available.
