Mountain Biking Mine Mountain
#90 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
From Fawn Lake Access area take Fawn Lake Rd. ~0.1 miles, then take a left onto Mine Mountain trail. The climbing will come quickly once on the trail but it will be short-lived & soon you'll be bombing down a sweet, little downhill to the bottom of Mine Mtn. From there you can link up with the plethora of trails Dupont has to offer.

From Brevard/Hendersonville (Hwy. 64): Turn south 5.3 miles on DuPont Road that turns into Staton Road. Go past the Hooker Falls and High Falls Access Areas to a left at the end of Staton Road on Cascade Lakes Road. Go 2.5 miles past the Corn Mills Shoals Access Area to a left on Reasonover Road just before US-276. The Fawn Lake Access Area is 2.8 miles on the left.
Fun trail with intertwined sections of slight climbing and downhill flow. Great way to end a Fawn Lake area ride. Start with Reasonover and slide over to Bridal Veil Falls for iconic DuPont photo opportunities. Jump on Shelter Rock to Corn Mills Shoal (climbing) to Laurel Ridge Trail and on to Mine Mountain Trail where up top out at almost 3100’ before a quick DH blast back to the parking lot.
Thank |Very smooth and fun Singletrack. Had a lot of fun. Beautiful Fall views. Either direction is fun, but I preferred the south-to-north direction as the downhill is longer. If you have time, ride both ways!
Thank |I loved how well this trail flowed. I didn't expect to be even close to that fun when I started, descriptions of the trail evading me in my research. But what I was met with was beautiful and smooth trail dancing its way Mine Mountain far above a nearby lake.
Thank |Really fun, fast and flows so well, great trail to end the day with!
Thank |Fun little trail to start your day or finish it off while riding from the Fawn Lake area of Dupont. Sweet, buttery singletrack!
