  Add a review
#157 of 265 mountain bike trails in Montana
#15,496 in the world

from usfs.gov:

The Mosquito Meadows trail is 2.3 miles long. It begins at Road #75 and ends at Trail 313.2. This is an easy hike with a gradual climb to the top of Rooster Comb. Once you arrive at the Divide you will be rewarded with fabulous views of the Bitterroot's and the Rock Creek Drainage in the Sapphire Mountains.

If you would like to hike a loop, you can leave a car on Road #75 at the Trail Junction #87 or hike back up to Trail Junction #102 where you began. This total loop is 8 miles not counting the hike up Road #75. On your hike back down Trail #313 you can take a side trip into Kent Lake which adds another mile. This area was burned at a high intensity and you may encounter downfall.

There is limited parking located at the trailhead. Black Bear Campground is the closest campground located back on Skalkaho Road #75.

The trail is open for the following uses: Horseback Riding, Motorcycle Trail Riding
