FS #278 climbs steeply from the junction with #277, up towards the Antero summit. Eventually the grade mellows out, and becomes more rideable when the 4x4 road starts switchbacking. It's quite rideable up high, despite the extremely high elevation.

The switchbacked portion of this road is quite rideable, despite being at over 12,000 feet! You can't beat the views that you'll find here. For a 4x4 road, I can't imagine a much better ride!
