Decent downhill rip, but aside from the car ride and a few berms it's not all that remarkable.

The quality of the singletrack in this network is superb! Deep forests, flowy singletrack, steep, fast descents--highly recommended! You can even connect into these trails from the top of one of Fernie Alpine Resort's lifts.

A fantastic trail system. Something for everyone.
Easy to spend a few days here without the hitting the same trails twice.
Check out the local bike shops when you get to town for the best maps and support the local trail builders.

I live in Ontario but have ridden all over North America (Ontario/Quebec/Alberta/BC/Utah/Nevada/Colorado/California/etc..). This is hands down my favourite area to ride. The trails are classic Rocky Mountain with lots of long climbs which reward you with long downhills, flowing and technical trails. Over the last couple of years the locals have done an incredible job of improving the trails and maintenance is excellent. They are now extremely well marked!! Tons of different trails that connect so you can ride for days without repeating the same trail. Added bonus is that you can also downhill ride off chair lifts in the summer at the Fernie ski hill. The town is also very cool with lots of bars and unpretentious places to eat. Local Fernie Brewing company has some of the best beer I have had.
