Mountain Biking Mountain-Bay State Trail
#212 of 388 mountain bike trails in Wisconsin
Mountain-Bay State Trail is an epic 98.32 mile rail trail running from Wausau (the mountain being Rib Mountain) to Green Bay. Riders will traverse quiet swamp, peaceful forests, and beautiful wetlands. Although it is nearly continuous, in Shawano the trail goes onto road to rejoin the rail grade on the other side of town (see below for directions). This is a great option for those looking to do a shake-down bikepacking ride. Enjoy!
Take Maple Avenue down the Clark Drive. As you approach Shawano, Clark Drive will become Green Bay Street. The trail resurfaces right after the McDonald's.
