Mountain Biking Mt. Snow
#6 of 141 mountain bike trails in Vermont
I'm suprised no one posted this one. This is a well known ski resourt. They offer mountain biking in the summer and have a norba xc race and a big mtb festival once a year. I raced the xc course here and the weather was terrible. Rained all day, trails were like cake frosting, crashed 5 times first lap. I reccomend you skip the chair lift and ride to the summit and down. Did it on a tandem with my buddy I was totally spent when we were done.

High speed lift yeah! !!! Only one bike at a time, booo.
My first time there and with the trail system crossing each other at various places I got lost (taken 5 or whatever while supposed to be on 7) this happened 5 times and found it confusing .
Once I did all the mtb DH trails I started to get the layout and trails were easy to navigate. 7, 5, and 10 trails start at the top just a short distance from the lift.
7 is a nice flow groomed trail with berm and banks and is a great blue rideable for all..
5, 10 are black Diamond with 5 being more user friendly and slightly less technical single track..
7 brings you down to trail 9 of which is the jump trail.. it has some nice trail features a wooden 8-10ft drop and at the very end there are signs for hazard.. it's a drop over a trench which can catch the unknowing front tire and launch over the handle bar's. . B line is to the left.. once this is spotted it's pretty fun and fairly straight forwards..
Trail 8 and trail 11 are 2x Black Diamond. Trail 8 though steep is mainly large rounded rock face with good lead in and good lead out..
Trail 11 is accessed via trail 6.. and this is steep root and rocky with some chunk thrown I for good measure. The lines here are a free for all but I managed to see an existing line which is worn in and was pretty fun second time down it..

Yes Sir, these trails are good to go. Chair offers plenty of vert, especially for the east. I did not have my bike and had to rent. Jamis Bam is plenty compotent and price is fair. Great trails with great diversity. Highly recomend!
