Mulkey Creek is an up and back ride in a long canyon that can be filled with wildlife and wildflowers in early summer.
From the Barracks Trailhead ride the single track up for about 0.6 miles where you will see a rock cairn. Take a right here and follow the trail, after about 1/4 mile there will be another cairn. Bear left and begin climbing and contouring the hillside. About another 1/4 mile and you will crest a ridge bear left down into the canyon, at the bottom is Mulkey Creek. The lower portion of the Mulkey Creek ride is an old road that is shared w/ ATVers. A couple miles up the ride is purely single track. There are alot of stream crossings further up the canyon. Ride up as far as you want before heading back, if you turn around at the top of the canyon and the divide w/ Withington Creek the ride is 13 miles. There are some game trails and old roads near the end of the canyon that will loop you back to Barracks if you like to explore.
