Track leaves from outside town of Blacks Point.
The Murray Creek Track is an historic miners road. It is wide, well-surfaced and has no nasty surprises but you need to be fit. It relentlessly rises 350 vertical metres to Waitahu Saddle. From there you have three options:
Thank |1. Go back the way you came. Do that it you're an intermediate rider - grade 3.
2. Turn left and go down the Ajax Track - grade 4. This combination is called the " Murray Creek to Ajax Track Loop".
3. Continue over the saddle and go down to the Waitahu Valley in which case you're riding the trail called "Murray Creek to Waitahu Valley". You need grade 5 skills.
