Mountain Biking New Fane
#29 of 388 mountain bike trails in Wisconsin
Just finished for 2010. Singletrack, singletrack, singletrack. Fun for all abilities. This used to be all doubletrack shared with hikers, now double track is hikers only and singletrack is for bikers. Classic north kettle wisconsin forested mountain biking. AFter living out west I really love this stuff, there you are either grunting up an uphill or riding the brakes downhill... loving me the rolling flats!

From Milwaukee. Take 45N to Kewaskum. East on 28. North on Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, drive for about 2 miles, then east on valleyview/countyline rd, trail head about 500yards in on left.
Nice and dry an compact
Thank |Easy access and fun climbs and flowy descents with Good vibes from other fellow riders at the end of the run.
Thank |Trails were in great condition. Nice flowy loops with some fun downhills looping through the forest. Went early and still to the office by 9:30. Trails were nicely marked. Great in and out ride.
Thank |Sweet super flow and fast single-track through gorgeous woodland and prairie. Great for all abilities.
Thank |Trail is in very good condition now no leaves. Fast flowing seems like four miles.
Thank |Trail condition check.... It's easily going to be a few weeks before being dry enough for biking.
Thank |Well built trail set in beautiful kettle moraine. Has short punchy climbs but really fast and flowy.
Thank |XC ride, not very hard. Good place for a workout. Don't need too many bike skills to handle this trail.
Thank |Rode today fun after the rain.....
Thank |I had fun on New Fane. It was a flowy trail in parts. It had 4 loops to it. I missed a loop the first time around but thankfully you can get through all four in less than an hour. So I looped around and hit it again. Number 2 and 3 I felt had the most flow, downhills, rocks and technicalities. For the most part the trail is not that technical. A tight switchback every now and then with some larger rocks but really nothing you cant plow over, Its really easy to choose lines on this trail, Still was fun. I would say its intermediate at best. And this would be mainly just because of the small punchy climbs.
Thank |Fun trail. A decent amount of rocks but that doesn't stop you from enjoying some good flow! Loop 3 was most fun!
Thank |Good layout if you know the trails otherwise good luck. Trail intersections are very confusing but its well maintained and has some very fun sections. Not much for mileage here.
Thank |New Fane is one of my favorite trails for fat biking on a rigid fat bike! It has great flow and is as fast as you dare to go. Rocks and roots are present but not the predominant feature like many other Wisconsin trials, allowing you to keep up the speed. There are also some decent uphills to get your heart pumping. I've ridden it in just about all conditions and it's always a great time! Keep your hands off the brakes as much as you dare and enjoy the ride!
Thank |Just rode today and had a ball. Loop 3 was my favorite, super flowy. Loop one is a flat beginner loop in the prairie, and loop 4 had more tight turns which are fun but for a rider of my skill level I was on the brakes a little more than I would like to be. Nothing really technical but its easy to get tons of speed and when you get going that fast you're bound to have a good time. There is even an apple tree full of apples near the end of loop 2 that is full of super tasty apples right now.
Thank |First time riding ever. Had a blast out here. Can't wait to get back and do more!
Thank |This trail is what I have been looking for! It has some rocks , roots, some great climbs and good downhill to rest from the climbs. It is pretty well marked and a fun trail!
Thank |Fun trail for the whole family. Loop one for my 4 year old, Loops one and 2 for my 7 year old. All loops at various speeds for the adults 35 to 63. Fast flows sections are fun!
Thank |Fun little ride if you're in the area. It's not a long track, but you can do multiple laps and choose your lanes a little different every time to switch things up. There are a couple decent climbs and switchbacks. The trail is in decent shape as well and the full loop can be completed in 30-40 minutes depending how hard you ride.
Thank |These trails are excellent for beginner. The hills up and down are not too steep. There are some roots and plenty of loose rocks, but overall a very fun ride. I have taken my kids out last year a few times and they love it. They were 12 and 10 at the time. It is one big loop with a couple of shortcut trails. They are clearly marked. Very fun and very worth the while.
Thank |Nice flowy singletrack trails. While only around 5 miles, and taking around 30 minutes, multiple laps can allow you a longer ride. This is a nice alternative to the other Kettle trails when I want to switch it up. It offers a couple technical spots, but is fine for the newer rider overall.
