Mountain Biking North Lone Pine
#764 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
Best ridden as a loop, riding the roads up, and decending the trail. Climb Deadman Rd. west (left out of parking area) for 0.5 mi. to Killpecker Rd (FR 300). Take a left on Killpecker Rd. and climb 1 mi. to FR 333. Take FR 333 to FR 333A. Ride FR 333A for a very short bit and the Lone Pine TH (953) will be on your left. Decend on moderate singletrack with some rocks, roots, and creek crossings back to your car. Multiuse trail. Some views of Red Feather Lakes area. N. Lone Pine Trail exends further south uphill from where this description says to access it. Explore.

Take US 287 north from Ft. Collins or south from Laramie, WY to Red Feather Lakes Road (CR 74E). Go west 24-25 miles to Deadman Road. Take Deadman Road 4-5 miles to the trailhead on left (well marked).
Closed at rd 300 due to snow. Give it a few more weeks and it should be good to ride.
Thank |Trail is located in Red Feather Lakes, don't know why it's listed as FtC. Trail is extremely rocky. This is more of a hiker/ horse trail than a MTB trail. This should be listed as expert trail due to all the rock gardens. * Review edited 9/5/2010
Thank |This trail had lots of windfall on 5/27/06. Nice ride. Those wanting a longer, more techical downhill should ride Killpecker Trail further down Deadman Rd.
