Mountain Biking North Shore
#65 of 151 mountain bike trails in Germany
Take the dirt trail from behing the 1st parking lot and you'll start on a killer climb to the top. Once at the top, the trails go off to the right circling the hilltop. You'll find single track the parallels the road. Take the pathways off into the trees for some more fun. Look for a bridge after one of the restraurants. It leads to some castle ruins. Be sure to stop at the benches for some awesome views. Go left from the parking lot at the top, being sure not to descend too much, and you'll ride gravel roads until you pass an area labeled North Shore on a street sign. There is huge antennae right by it. There is a 100m or so of north shore type ladders, bridges, ramps, drops. We couldn't find any single track to play on on this side of the mountain.

Take A7 to exit 114. Go through Aalen on B29 to Mogglingen (20.9 km). In Mogglingen, follow signs to Heubach. At the traffic circle in Heubach, go straight through the the circle. You'll be on Hauptstrasse. Stay on this for about 4.9 km. Turn left on Fritz-Spiesshofer Strasse (it'll be just after the pedestrian overpass. Take this road to the first parking lot for a nice climb. You'll see big green sign with a mountian biker on them explaining how dangerous mtn biking is. The trail starts here behing the parking lot. If you look up it the trees you can see some small rollers where the trail comes out. Another option is to take the road to the the parking lot at the top and start there. From the parking lot at the top, head east on any of the gravel roads. You'll find a street sign on a tree for North Shore. Signs to the Kinderplatz will get you close also. There is a huge radio attenae right next to the North Shore. Go left at the parking lot at the top and you'll find some short but fun single and double track to play on. Everyone we rode by seemed pleasant, especially since we made sure we slowed down a lot when we passed them (the whole ride friendly thing). There's a great castle up here too. The views are incredible. Here's the link with more directions and maps: http://www.heubach.de/biketherock/northshoretrail.htm
