Mountain Biking Oswald West State Park

Two miles are straight up hill. Scenery is fantastic at 7:30 in the morning despite the clear cut. Once you reach George Washington's face it is great to look across the park to the ocean. Then up again the fire road at about a 25 grade incline. Once you reach the end of the road part you need to find the goat trail and travel up to the Poacher's cabin. That is as far as I could go. Mike Stanley from Mike's Bike in Cannon Beach promised an epic ride once you could find the crossing poiunt. But I never did. Even still the scenery made up for the tremendous climb. Look up Mike for a map and directions.

From the North Travel South on 101 just past the arch cape tunnel park on the east side of the road next to the barrier. From the south do the same except if you reach the tunnel you have traveled too far

I followed the descriptions above. I found a web of gravel loggin roads that pretty much went straight up. I took most of them hoping to encounter some singletrack but found no link. The only road I did not see to the end was the road that goes right and stays aong the ridge. Perhaps there is a trail there. Scenery beautful-like riding on a cloud. Fast Fast downhill on way back
