A group of ten volunteers poses for a photo while standing in a park. They are wearing matching camouflage shirts and casual attire, with some holding gardening tools and equipment. The background features tall pine trees and a park sign. The group appears cheerful and ready for outdoor activities. Palmetto Trail mountain bike trail.

Area is beautiful to get out into nature. I took the North Loop and had a great ride. I would guess the trails don’t get ridden very often, the “single track” wasn’t visible for 90% of the ride. It seems to just be a trail that gets mowed every once in awhile. You just ride along through the weeds where the mower went last week. I would try it again just to see if I can find the single track that previous reviews mention

Rode the Palmetto today. Pretty wet from the recent rain. Finally ran into enough water at 4.5 mile mark that I'd had enough. Lol! Didn't make it clear to the river. First ride on my new bike. Solo ride. Simple trail but good exercise. Thanks Real Bikes of Englewood for suggesting the spot. Look forward to many more rides on many more trails. This was a good beginner trail for me. Many thanks to the people that developed this trail and it looks like there is great potential for other trails in the area. Nice and close for me.

If you can't handle roots, you might want to stay on roads or maybe improve your skills.

SCORR (Sarasota County Off Road Riders) built the trail.

Great out and back trail; ride among the pines; stay out of the water if possible. Trail has some water after rain.

A 5 mile "out and back" trail, to the Myakka River. Lot's of curves to keep you paying attention. Ride among the tall pines and palmettos. See a variety of wildlife. Relax at the end of the 5 miles out, next to the river.
