It will turn to singletrack, ranging from, mellow, rocky, steep, sketchy, and buttah couple of bridges, lots of creek crossings

Will dump out on Butcher Ranch which can be pretty toreup at times of the year, cross bridge do climb to Third Divide which will come out on Lavezzola fire road, head left, just passed bridge to the right will be 1st divide singletrack cross fire road again following 1st Divide to town.

I finally had my first trip to Downieville! I loved it! The rain from earlier in the week left the dirt juuuust right, the creek crossings werent too bad but my right foot and butt were pretty wet at times. I rented an Ibis Mojo HD 4 and once I got it dialed in that bike was perfect for the terrain.(bring a shock pump and read up on the recommended settings for the bike you will be renting before you go)
However, if you are strapped for cash and are worried about riding an older style bike I can tell you there was a guy in my group that was as fast if not faster than me on an old (mid-2000's) Santa Cruz Heckler with a huge stem and narrow bars. So, run what ya brung and just know what you are capable of. I rented because I was concerned about my 100/100 mm travel trail bike handling the high speed hits, and in hind sight, I could have done it but I would have had to slow down quite a bit in some spots.
