Mountain Biking Pee Wee's Mountain Bike Park
#92 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
Great singletrack: lots of jumps, deep gullies, and fast sections. The main loop is about 5.2 miles. There is a new loop being cut now. Trail fee is $2.00 and is well worth it!!

From Charlotte, Take 85 South. Take 321 North. Take Exit 24 (hwy 150). Take a left at Hwy 150 West. Go through 2 stop lights then a flashing light then one more stop light. After the last stop light, look for the water tower on the left. Turn immediately after it on Riverview. Go .4 miles and you will see Pee Wee's on the right.
Great ride some jumps no wood obstacles all rotted away but all in all great ride to be so close to the house
Thank |Fun trail. Some nice climbs and a few jumps mixed in. Trail markings are better than last year. Pictures need updated. Most of the wooden obstacles have been removed. Still, it is a fun ride.
Thank |Poor flow, poorly maintained, unkept old obstacles that are dangerous, attempted to add mileage by sacrificing trail direction and flow.
Thank |Confusing wooded ride. I think it is starting to just dwindle away.
Thank |Some areas are confusing on what direction to go and there are older degrading structures that look dangerous to ride along with washed out berms and some oddly placed jumps. Poor flow, every down hill or part of trail that allows you to get some speed is quickly interrupted by a switch back or uphill. I would save your two bucks and pay for parking at the whitewater center. Please note, the pictures currently posted are old and are not representative of the current state of the trail.
Thank |Pretty Great trail. Lot of remodeling and fixing needs to be done from what I saw yesterday and I would be more than happy to help! But other than that FUN RIDE!!!!!
Thank |Decent mileage in here. A nice mix of trail from bermed turns to super tight and twisty, throw some short quick climbs and some jump ridden downs and you've got Pee Wee's. Not much in the technical realm but a fun loop. Nicely marked with plenty of bailout options if needed.
Might be nice to be able to reverse direction on the trail for something new.
Thank |Fun. Fast. Kept in good condition. Well marked. A nice selection of jumps ... most can be hit or skipped. Not too rooty. Lots of twists and turns. A good combination of climbs and descents. There are shortcuts all over the trail; which is nice to give a bit more variety when doing more than one lap. Most of all the built stunts have been dismantled. There is a "gravity" section for drop-ins. Exits are clearly marked and are located all over the trail.
Thank |Price to ride is $2 ... and worth it.
Here is a more simple way to get there.

Thank |very nice trails, lots to do i am sure you could make a whole day out of the park... had a blast just wish i could of seen some people do some of the crazy jumps or tech stuff... deff want to go back and try some more
Thank |Does anyone know if they allow tent camping?
Thank |i ride pee-wee's on a weekly basis and I personally like it better than some of the other trails around, such as poplar tent. The trail is a fast ride and I see something new every week. There are new wooden ramps and skinnies on the trial with a new jump up to 8 feet over a ditch. It's a good hour ride with some optional technical loops. Maintenance happens weekly. The other week a tree was falling over the trail and was gone the next day.
People ride the trail a lot and it's getting back to top form after the fall leaves. Try not to miss the gullies all over the track and ride hard.
Thank |I just rode out at pee wees yesterday (April, 2) it is looking great. All the north shores are still their but the one at the end on the left a few boards seamed kind of roted and broken. Over all still in good shape.
Thank |It was good to get back to Pee Wee's! See my review below, much of this still holds true. It was nice to see they have kept the park fee at $2/day. You can definitely see that they have been investing the fees back into the trail - especially with the construction of technical trail features such as the Southern Twister(see photos), roller ramp(see photos), and drop at the start of the XC trail. There is also an unbelievable drop over a gap(see photos) toward the end of the ramp park...you can check out some action on this at http://www.da-drop.com/delusions.html (open page and scroll down-photos may eventually be over-written as this link is the homepage)
Cons: I'd really like to see some more trail markers/signs/blazes out there for the XC trail. Currently, you pretty-much just follow the flow. There are forks with no markers, places where the trail dumps out and you're looking for the continuation, or areas where you either skip trail or double-back if you choose wrong. You don't have to worry about getting lost though...all the trails eventually get you back to the ramp section or the trailhead.
Someone should get out there and get some video of hucks in action at the ramp section or the other technical spots on the trail - post it to this trail page...blow our minds.
Thank |Gear up and get out there!
Love this trail, it has everything. Screeming downhills, climbs, jumps, drop offs, its got it! Best riding east of Asheville. These guys are always improving the trails. Now has elevated northshore stuff.
Thank |THE trail was awsome, it's amazing and they keep it up well too. i have been there twice so far, the last time i was there it was the day after it rained, and the trail seemed to drained pretty well.
the arrows i don't think the color means anything. the arrows go from red to green.
but in the center of all the trails is the stunt park and the dirt park is on the out side of the trails.
it's defintley worth going to. it's as hard and technical as u want it to be. there alot of stuff i did, and some things was just nuts lol.* Review edited 1/7/2007
Thank |Somewhat easy trail if you don't do the obstacles. I am a beginner so I didn't try the crazy ramps. The smaller jumps are very fun and fast. The beginning is somewhat boring then midway to the end is great. I am definitely coming back to this park!
Thank |This trail is just like it says on the trail board AIN'T IT FUN THOUGH. This was the first trail that I rode and it still is just as fun as the first day that I rode it. Pee Wee's has it all steep downhills, big jumps, gulleys, wall rides, stunt and bmx parks, and a few long climbs. This trail can be attempted by the begginer but leave the stunts to the experts. Even I do not attemp all of the stunts. The ride is well worht the 2.00 fee. Ride at Pee Wee's, you won't regret it!!!!
Thank |"AIN'T IT FUN THOUGH"! Pee Wee's IS alot of fun - a little bit for everyone, both XC and Freestyle/Xtreme riders alike. The ramp park is nutz! 'Nuff said there...just have to see it to believe it.
The singletrack is a network of tight, twisty trails marked by red, yellow, and green arrow blazes(don't know the significance of the different colors, whether they marked routes or difficulty...I just followed what felt right).
Lot's of ups, downs, and technical in some sections...this trail uses minimal elevation changes well. Trail turf varies from sandy dirt/clay to exposed rocks. There are tons of jumps, berms, and man-made obstacles worked into the entire XC trail. A couple ravines where you can ride the walls down.
Only negatives were some rooty sections and looks like the singletrack could use a couple trail maintenence days to clear some debris, growth, and patch some areas up...but these two cons are MINOR and offset by the fun layout of this course!! This trail is VERY similar in almost every aspect to Beech Springs/Poplar Tent near Concord, NC.
