Mountain Biking Pentwater Pathways

***   Add a review
#195 of 322 mountain bike trails in Michigan
#9,664 in the world

The junctions are well marked with maps. Many of the blue reassurance markers are damaged or missing, but the trail is well-established and it would be difficult to get off the trail.
The trail is mostly sandy forest soil. Flat to moderate with slightly steeper hills in loop 4. One steep hill north from point 4 1/2.

Getting there
To reach the Pentwater Pathway take Business 31 from the US 31 expressway to Pentwater (from the Oceana Drive exit you will drive through town; from the Monroe Road exit you will reach the turn before the town). Just south of town turn west on Long Bridge Road. Cross the bridge and turn left on Wayne Road. Watch for a marked turn on a dirt road to the right in 1.5 miles. The parking area is a widened space in the road 0.3 mile in, and you will notice the bench at the entrance to the trail system on your right.

It is a nice beginner trail to bring new bikers to. There is a good amount of sand throughout the trail. It is a loop system so you can decide how far you want to go. Loop 4 does have a fun steep hill decline which the pictures don't do it justice. Can get a little muddy after it rains.
