Mountain Biking Pfalz-vosges Loop
#83 of 151 mountain bike trails in Germany
This route was advertised in a German Radfahren tour-book. It\'s intended to be a road-tour, but we turned it into a MTB tour. Just stay off of the road, there are multiple trails paralleling the hard-ball.
Starting in Fischbach, follow the bike signs towards Schonau south, then into France. Turn towards Obersteinbach and follow the road/river. Then head north and make towards Fischbach and Germany again.
The trails inside Germany are mostly paved or hard-pack dirt, and level. But once you enter France, the trails deteriorate rapidly. Often, trails disappear into fields or fork with no signs to help with directions. The trail conditions are horrible, varying from sandy to muddy to non-existant, with lots of roots, gravel and ruts to make things interesting.
