Mountain Biking Phil Hardberger Park
#169 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
Everything within Hardberger Park is beginner-friendly. Savanna loop is 1.84 miles. You can add another .85 by doing the Oak Loop trail. When the West side of the park is eventually linked with the East side of the park you will be able to add another 2 or so miles of biking on the gravel trails within that side of the park. As the east side of the park is already linked to Salado Creek (paved and MTB trails), once the link and other Salado trail extensions are complete, you will be able to connect to Walker Ranch Park and McAllister for seamless trail riding and various networks to choose from.

From Phil Hardberger Park West entrance on NW Military, proceed straight to new pavilion. Follow signs to Savannah Loop trailhead.
It's a bunch of crushed granite and concrete dog walking trails. Good parking lot to meet with friends and then hit Salado Creek, which it borders.
Thank |This park forms part of the Salado Greenway system now. The trails are mostly crushed stone and stamped concrete. They're a nice fix, but not singletrack by any means. Still this is a good beginners trail system to bring the kids out to and get them to gain confidence. Sadly, there is probably enough park for some nice flow singletrack to be made, but it doesn't look like anyone is petitioning for it to my knowledge.
