From Wilson head west on Wy22 for 1 mile and go Left on Old Pass road. Continue on Old Pass Road almost 3 miles to the 2nd switchback above Crater Lake. Going Right onto single track and the start of Phillips Canyon Trail. The Trail continues climbing, crossing Wy22 where it becomes a dirt road. Stay on the dirt road .4 mile and go left at the Ski Lake trail sign and back onto single track. Climbing continues with some short rocky technical sections through a wooded short downhill and a meadow. Here take the right fork, following great single track to a rocky technical stream crossing. A short steep pitch follows and the trails heads right and down the canyon paralleling the stream. The downhill has many challenges, steep rocky sections, root drops, a few stream crossings. Deadfall may be encountered as well. Finally the trail meets pavement at Fish Creek Road, continue south and back to Wilson.
One of my favorite on the pass. First part of trail is the Arrow trail which was made for mountain bikers. Trail is smooth and nice. Once into the canyon part of the trail it really gets exciting. Lots of technical rock sections and large 2+ root drops. You have to be on your toes all the time.

Thank |This is a great ride. One of my all time favorites!! Who needs Moab?
There are new trails that connect to the Phillips ride built in 2008. This map does not show them.
The data states the Elevation gain/loss as 800ft...it is more like 3000ft unless you shuttle it.
