Mountain Biking Pink Beds
#222 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
Great warm up/cool down trails or beginner trails for Pisgah, as they are mostly flat. The bikeable portion of this trail will dump you out on a gravel road near the South Mills River trail after crossing several creeks along the way. Little technical challenge on these trails, but still great scenery and seclusion.
Trail is 3.3 miles one-way.

Starting in Brevard, head north on US 276 until you come to the Pink Beds picnic area. Picnic area is located in between the Cradle of Forestry building and Yellow Gap Rd. Grab the bike and head east to the trail head.
Nice mellow trail, lots of roots on the trail. At one point it became a little crazy with the roots. Otherwise, way up in the mountains nice views. Lots of Black Bears.
Thank |This trail is almost all flat, almost nothing like anything nearby. There are some nice sections where it meanders side by side with a creek and there are also some shallow creek crossing but most have bridges. Lot's of hikers around this part too. It's seasonal so make sure to only ride it between October 15- April 15 and despite the description I seriously doubt this is a one way trail.
