Mountain Biking Pleney Bike Park
#3 of 57 mountain bike trails in France
There are four main downhill trails that start from the top of the Pleney lift and descend 500m to the base of the lift in downtown Morzine. Two, colored blue, are suitable for intermediate riders on a cross-country bike, one, colored red, and called "The Roots", is rideable by an advanced rider on a cross-country bike but is more fun on a downhill bike, and finally there is the expert trail, called "La Noir de Morzine" with black signage, suitable only for skilled downhill riders.
In general, the harder the trail the better the quality. None of the trails is suitable for beginners and that includes the one called "The Blue Family".
There is also a cross country track that goes to Les Gets, a town in the next valley, where there are more lifts and more trails.

From downtown Morzine head south from the Office de Tourisme for a couple of blocks and you'll come to the base of the Pleney Gondola. It is visible from all over town as it heads up the side of the valley and into the sky. You can't miss it. Line up to buy your day pass - less than 40 euros - and the sky is yours.
